Questions about the conditions we treat
If you're not sure which diagnosis fits — or whether what you're experiencing even has a name yet — that's exactly what an evaluation is for. These answers cover the questions we hear most often.
What mental health conditions does RECO Integrated Psychiatry treat?
We treat the full range of psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, trauma, panic disorder, schizophrenia, chronic pain with mental health components, treatment-resistant cases, and substance-use disorders that co-occur with mental health concerns. Each plan is built around your specific symptoms, history, and goals — not a diagnostic label.
Do you treat people with more than one diagnosis at the same time?
Yes — and most of our patients do present with overlapping conditions. Anxiety alongside depression, ADHD with trauma history, bipolar with substance use, OCD with chronic pain — these combinations are the rule, not the exception. We're built for integrated, whole-person care that treats the underlying patterns, not isolated symptoms.
Do I need a referral or a prior diagnosis to be evaluated?
No referral is required. You don't need a prior diagnosis, paperwork from another provider, or a clear sense of what's "wrong." Our initial psychiatric evaluation is a full diagnostic interview where we listen, ask questions, and help you understand what we're seeing. That conversation alone is often clarifying.
How do I know if my symptoms warrant psychiatric care?
If you've been struggling for more than a few weeks, if it's affecting work, sleep, relationships, or your sense of self — it's worth a conversation. You don't need to be in crisis to qualify for care. Many of the people we help simply got tired of "managing" something that quietly chipped away at their life. Reaching out is rarely the wrong move.
Will my insurance cover an evaluation and ongoing treatment?
Most major insurance plans cover psychiatric evaluation and outpatient treatment for the conditions we treat. Coverage for advanced services like Spravato and TMS varies by plan. We verify benefits up front and walk you through the financial picture before any appointment is booked — no surprises. Call us at (561) 464-4077 to verify your specific plan.
How long until I start feeling better?
It depends on the condition and the treatment plan. Some patients feel meaningful relief within the first 1–2 weeks of medication or therapy. Others — particularly those with longer-standing or treatment-resistant conditions — see deeper change over 6–12 weeks. We track progress visit-by-visit so the plan adapts as you do, rather than making you wait months to see if something is working.
What if I've already tried medications and therapy without success?
Treatment-resistant cases are a core part of our practice. We offer advanced options that go beyond first-line care — TMS therapy, Spravato (esketamine), IV ketamine, pharmacogenetic testing to guide medication choice, and integrated approaches that address the biological, psychological, and lifestyle factors most clinics overlook. If conventional treatment hasn't worked, that's not the end of the road; it's the reason this practice exists.
