Laura Steele — Primary Therapist

Clinical Team

Laura Steele, MSW, RCSWI

Primary Therapist

Meaningful recovery begins with a space where clients can be honest about where they are while being supported in moving toward where they want to be.

Background

Laura Steele is a Primary Therapist at RECO Integrated Psychiatry, providing individualized therapy that supports the psychiatric care patients receive on-site. With more than six years in the behavioral health field, Laura brings a diverse clinical background and a strong commitment to supporting clients throughout the recovery process.

Her areas of focus include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), substance use treatment, mental health counseling, family therapy, couples counseling, and 12-Step recovery principles.

Approach to Care

Laura works from a client-centered, individualized posture — recognizing that recovery is not a one-size-fits-all process. She believes that honesty, compassion, accountability, and collaboration are the foundations of effective therapy, and she meets clients where they are in their stage of change while helping them build insight, coping skills, and sustainable strategies for long-term mental health and substance use recovery.

Her therapeutic style is engaging, supportive, and transparent — the kind of talk-therapy partnership that gives psychiatric care its longest arc.

Education & Credentials

Laura earned her graduate degree in Social Work from The College of Saint Rose and is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSWI) in the State of Florida. She has more than six years of experience across administrative and direct clinical roles in behavioral health — a background that lets her approach treatment from both a clinical and systems-based perspective.

What to Expect

Patients at RECO Integrated Psychiatry working with Laura can expect a therapeutic presence that is honest and collaborative — the kind of talk-therapy partnership that complements psychiatric care and gives it staying power. Laura sees the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative process and believes meaningful recovery begins with a space where clients can be honest about where they are while being supported in moving toward where they want to be.
