Michael Ross — Primary Therapist

Clinical Team

Michael Ross, MSW, RCSWI

Primary Therapist

Meaningful change does not have to happen all at once — recognizing a pattern a little sooner, setting one boundary that actually holds, using a coping skill when it matters are all real steps forward.

Background

At RECO Integrated Psychiatry, Michael’s therapeutic work supports the psychiatric care that patients receive — helping clients build the self-understanding and coping skills that medication alone cannot install.

Before becoming a therapist, Michael spent more than a decade in business, marketing, and leadership. That experience continues to shape his clinical style — particularly his solution-focused mindset, his creative approach to problem-solving, and his emphasis on listening closely to understand what someone actually needs. He brings that same collaborative posture into therapy, working with clients to define meaningful goals, identify what feels realistic and useful, and build a path forward together.

Approach to Care

At RECO Integrated Psychiatry, Michael’s approach starts with the belief that meaningful change doesn’t have to happen all at once. Recognizing a pattern a little sooner, responding differently to a trigger, setting one boundary that actually holds, having a difficult conversation in a healthier way, or using a coping skill when it matters are all meaningful steps forward. Small changes matter, especially when they become changes someone can sustain.

His work draws from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, solution-focused and narrative therapy, exposure-based interventions, and EMDR. Michael views these approaches as tools rather than a one-size-fits-all formula. Part of the work is figuring out together which tools make sense, practicing them, and adapting when something isn’t working.

Education & Credentials

Michael earned his Master of Social Work from Florida Atlantic University and is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern in the State of Florida. He has completed EMDRIA-approved EMDR Training through Florida Atlantic University, including didactic training, supervised practicum, and consultation.

His prior decade in business, marketing, and leadership gives Michael a practical perspective on stress, emotional burnout, workplace and relationship conflict, communication difficulties, motivation, career pressure, and maintaining a healthier sense of balance — and on the ways those pressures shape both individual well-being and relationships.

What to Expect

Patients at RECO Integrated Psychiatry working with Michael find him a thoughtful, well-listened-to therapeutic presence — someone whose work complements the psychiatric plan and gives the clinical picture the longer time-horizon it needs.
