Background
Vincenzina Disalvo, MFT is the Family Therapist at RECO Integrated Psychiatry, where she supports families whose loved ones are receiving psychiatric medication management, TMS, Spravato, or integrated therapy. Her role is to ensure the system around the client — spouses, parents, siblings, adult children — is not left navigating the change alone.
Ms. V returned to school for her MFT after her son struggled with addiction, and her work is deeply shaped by that experience. She understands that psychiatric care rarely happens in a vacuum: families feel the changes too, and they need their own support to metabolize them.
Approach
Ms. V’s work integrates cleanly with the psychiatric care model at RECO Integrated Psychiatry. She coordinates with prescribers and therapists so that the family is prepared for medication onset, side effects, mood shifts, and the harder conversations that surface as symptoms improve.
She leads with compassion but does not soft-pedal. Families in her office learn to communicate directly, hold boundaries without cruelty, and let go of habits — enabling, over-monitoring, walking on eggshells — that were once survival strategies and now block healing.
Education & Credentials
Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. Ms. V’s deep understanding of family systems in the context of psychiatric and substance-use care comes from years of clinical practice and her own experience as a family member.
